After a one day trial, the judge ordered the maximum award of 100% disability benefits and ordered the employer to provide lifetime medical care and treatment for the injury. The employer has appealed the decision to the Tennessee Supreme Court Special Workers' Compensation Panel.

Tractor Trailer Wreck – $300,000.00 settlement for a Nashville man injured when he was rear ended by a tractor trailer truck on Interstate 65 North of Nashville. The settlement was received shortly after the filing of the Complaint and included the payment of all medical bills acquired as a result of the collision.
Workers’ Compensation - $97,895.92 settlement for Middle Tennessee warehouse worker injured while lifting a large desk. The settlement included the payment of all medical bills and lifetime medical care for his injury. The case was settled at a Benefit Review Conference provided by Tennessee Department of Labor without the filing of a lawsuit.
2006
Products Liability and Wrongful Death - Confidential settlement for the minor child of a Middle Tennessee State University student killed in a single vehicle roll-over accident on Interstate 24 near Murfreesboro, Tennessee. The Law Office of Larry R. Williams, PLLC represented the family of the young woman and her daughter in a lawsuit against the vehicle's manufacturer and the manufacturer of the tires, claiming the products were defective and unreasonably dangerous, and a service center that serviced the victims SUV shortly before the accident for its negligence and failure to warn the young lady about the defects of her vehicle and tires. The firm also set up a guardianship for the minor child and administered the victims estate.
Premises Liability and Slip/Trip and Fall – $126,250.25 judgment in the Circuit Court of Davidson County, Tennessee for a woman severely injured after she tripped over an uneven concrete sidewalk as she left a Nashville night club. The Plaintiff sued the defendant night club and its owners for failing to maintain its premises in a reasonably safe condition, for failing to remove a dangerous condition that the defendant knew or reasonably should have known about, and for violating Metro-Nashville building codes concerning sidewalk safety. The plaintiff’s proof at trial included video-taped testimony from her treating physician and an evaluating physician as well as in court testimony from a professor of civil engineering at Vanderbilt University. After a two day trial, the Jury found the defendant to be 70% at fault and awarded judgment for the injured plaintiff.
Personal Injury Automobile Accident- Confidential settlement for a 16 year old girl severely injured when the vehicle in which she was a passenger left the road and flipped on its side. The Firm secured medical treatment and physical therapy with a successful TennCare appeal and negotiated a settlement with the defendant driver. The Firm also sought the assistance of financial experts to help invest the settlement funds in such a way as to pay for college and provide immediate and future income to the young woman. The Firm is now pursuing a claim on behalf of the family against the State of Tennessee for the failure to install a guardrail at the accident site.
Worker’s Compensation - $74,875.00 judgment in a worker’s compensation case filed against the Saturn Corporation in Spring Hill, Tennessee. The Saturn employee, who had returned to work after her injury thereby “capping” her case, alleged that she suffered a ruptured disc in her neck as a result of raising heavy SUV hoods at work. The employer denied the compensability of the injury, denied all benefits and only offered the employee a $5,000.00 settlement prior to trial. After a one day trial, the trial judge found in the employee’s favor and awarded her the judgment in addition to lifetime medical treatment for her neck injury.

Worker’s Compensation - $123,600.00 judgment in a worker’s compensation case filed on behalf of an automotive assembly worker at the Saturn Corporation in Spring Hill, Tennessee. The employee alleged a cervical injury caused by the lifting of an engine on the assembly line. The employee was able to successfully return to work and earn full wages. Saturn Corporation denied that the employee was injured at work. After a one day trial, the trial judge determined the injury to be compensable an ordered the judgment in favor of the employee including lifetime medical treatment for the injury.
