Buried Alive Story Larry Williams
One of the wildest cases I’ve ever been involved in involved a young man who was looking at a house for sale. There was a for sale sign in the yard, and the house was abandoned. He went up on the front porch to look in the window. When he walked up on the steps, the concrete for the porch collapsed in big sections.
He fell down about fifteen feet. The concrete came down on top of him, pretty much buried him alive, broke several bones in his legs, took the fire department several hours to get him out. I saw it on the news when it was reported that night, and lo and behold, he calls me a couple days later and asked me to represent him. Of course, I was happy to do it.
We found out that the company that owned the house had done an inspection and they saw the cracks. They knew this thing was dangerous, but instead of fixing it at an open house.
